We are expanding our Harbour Crane Services department, which means we are looking for an additional hands-on foreman with mechanical experience working with harbour cranes and/or overhead cranes. As a foreman, you get the best out of your team and guide them where necessary. What's more, you have no problem rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into our diverse, exceptional and heavy mechanical projects. No two days are ever the same.

Your tasks as a Foreman Harbour Cranes:

• Coordinating with the client, site manager and planning (in case of problems, but also proactively).
• Managing a team of mechanics.
• Ensuring safe, high-quality execution of the work and its follow-up.
• Assisting with the (preventive) maintenance of large machines within the framework of maintenance contracts (e.g. lubrication, replacement of bearings and brake shoes, changing the cable of a 700-tonne crane, disconnecting a transformer, etc.).
• Assisting in the correct assembly of new, large-scale equipment (e.g. assembly of a 34 m overhead crane, bolting structures, welding, grinding, drilling, etc.).
• Assisting in repairing heavy equipment (e.g. replacing gears in 2-tonne gearboxes and repairing them if necessary).
• Leading hoisting operations where necessary.
• Following up the administration (e.g. signing off on work carried out, LMRA).
  

You will usually work at a customer's location with a team of 2-3 people. For larger projects, you manage a larger group of mechanics. You report to the Site Manager.

Your profile

• You have experience as a foreman for harbour crane and/or overhead crane mechanics. Ideally, you are a mechanic who is a jack of all trades (e.g. experience with rigging, working at a height, hoisting).
• You have knowledge of hydraulics.
• An asset (but not mandatory): safety certificate (VCA), certificate for securing critical loads (IS-006), forklift certificate (IS-001), aerial work platform certificate (IS -005) and/or overhead crane certificate (IS-011).
• You’re not afraid of getting your hands dirty or of working at a height.
• Safety is your number 1 priority.
• You are technically proficient.
• You are communicative and sociable. You are used to managing a team, and you adopt an appropriate communication style.
• You conduct yourself in a proper and fair manner. You don’t shy away from confronting people about inappropriate behaviour.
• You adopt a flexible attitude towards tasks and working hours.
• You are fluent in Dutch (speaking and reading). Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
• You have a B driving licence.
